About Our Interim Pastor |
The Rev. Dr. Justin P. Kollmeyer, called "Pastor Kollmeyer" in typical Lutheran tradition, was born and raised in Texas. He was ordained in 1976 after graduating from Valparaiso University (Indiana) in 1972 and Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, MO, in 1976. He served two parishes in Florida before coming to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville in 1986. When Pastor Kollmeyer retired just this past March, he had served Prince of Peace for 34 years years and had been a full-time pastor for 44 years. In 1985, he earned his Doctorate Degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. Pastor and Elaine were married in 1975. They have three grown and now married children and six grandchildren in Michigan and Atlanta. Pastor Kollmeyer's father, also a Lutheran Pastor, lives in assisted living in Fayetteville. He will turn 100 this December. "The people of Word of God have a special place in my heart," he says. "I look forward to serving The Lord and you as we move forward in this transitional chapter of your life as a congregation. God will most definitely lead, guide, direct, and empower you through it all." |
