Local Mission |
Each month we team up with other area churches and the Real Life Center and participate in the Mobile Food Pantry. At the mobile food pantry we unload a food distribution truck from the Atlanta Food Bank and sort the food into stations. Residents in Fayette County who are in need drive from station to station while we place food in their car and talk to them a little bit at each station. At the end of the day we take down the stations and return the space to a normal parking lot. These items are purchased at a variety of local grocery stores. Our congregation meets after service on the first Sunday in December to pack these dinners. Once the packets are delivered to Real Life Center, they are distributed to those in need.

Redeemer Soup Kitchen is a ministry we have served with for a number of years. We serve lunch to approximately 180-220 people each visit. We also provide socks, chap-stick, lotion and several other items as needed. It is a great time to share a smile or kind word with someone going through a tough time while providing them with a healthy meal. Join us any fifth Monday or Tuesday. Healing Bridge Clinic
The Healing Bridge Clinic's mission is to care for the residents of Fayette and surrounding counties providing free health care to those who would otherwise be unable to afford these medical services. Word of God provides quarterly meals for health providers every third month on the 3rd Thursday. ASAP - Tools For Empowerment in Newnan, GA is an organization that provides tools for people in Haiti, Dominican Republic and El Salvador to learn a trade, have the tools and become self-reliant. Their mission is to provide tools and knowledge that endure for a lifetime, including vocational, agricultural, small business and savings groups training. The specific areas of training include Auto Mechanics, Carpentry, Electrical, Masonry and Plumbing. They take your unwanted tools, lumber and plywood; then volunteers refurbish the tool donations; volunteer carpenters build wooden tool crates; refurbished tools are packed into crates and sorted by trade and then shipped. We provided monetary help as well as helping prep tools during our VBS program. These pictures are from WoG Vacation Bible School where the attendees (special needs young adults) helped oil the tools, wrap them in newspaper and put into boxes to be shipped.
