WE Team members assist the ushers by greeting members and visitors at the door and in the narthex on Sunday mornings. We make sure that we give visitors a name tag and assist them with any questions they might have about our service.  We also encourage our members to wear their name tags and to help us greet visitors. 
 

The discovery class program has been added as part of the WE team. The discovery class is an 8 week study of what it means to be a Lutheran and is open to members and non- members. We work with Vince Compagno, who conducts the classes, and organize a celebration luncheon at the end of the course.

We maintain and update the information cards, the pens, and the pencils that are in the back of our sanctuary chairs. We coordinate with our church office for creating name tags for new members.  When we receive new members, a member of our team presents a Bible to each new family. Each Bible has a book plate with name placed inside the Bible. Photos are taken of each new member and posted on a bulletin board.

We assemble visitor bags which are kept in a basket in the narthex. Each bag contains a visitor information card, a Word of God pen or pencil, a copy of Luther’s Small Catechism, and a Word of God picture/ information card. These bags can be used by all members to give to visitors.

We place yellow roses on the altar to welcome newborn babies and tie either a pink or blue ribbon around the vase.

Evangelism is about getting the word out about our savior, Jesus Christ, and our congregation, Word of God Lutheran Church. We seek to share this with people everywhere.  We contact newspapers, and magazines, and present them with articles and pictures about our activities.
